Appreciate a survival tool: Instinct

I'm not expert at this, but i know that trusting your instinct takes faith and trust. You know what feels right, you trust yourself, and making decisions in an instant doesn't scares you!

Note: Instinct is different from intuition ( i didn't know this until a few hours ago!). Intuition (also highly appreciated!) is your guide, and is there for self-growth.

Instinct is the sharp fast warning sign type feeling. It can save your life or someone else's.
Here's what I appreciate about Instinct:

1- The rush
2- Human connection after saving or being saved
3- Even if it was the wrong decision, you still feel good that you used your own judgement (related to intuition)
4- You become wise, because you're using your own experience and subconscious
5- You start to appreciate yourself.
6- Saves time
7- Trust
8- Doctors, Surgeons, Firefighters
9- it's natural, and a gift.
10 - it doesn't go away, it's there forever, whether in us, or someone.

What do you think?
Thank you, Appreciated,

Wesam

  2. Wesam! Very nuanced of you to call out the difference between intuition and instinct. I love instincts precisely because they've been hardwired into humans for the past 20,000 years. Of course, the world has changed drastically from the lives of our hunter/gatherer forefathers, so you have to wonder if those instincts are as valuable as they were before. I don't know about you, but I think this is why we love camping so much... It is a chance for us to appreciate (and hone and honor) our instinctual survival skills.

Question of the day: Is instinct like a muscle, it becomes stronger the more you use it? or is instinct like a fortune cookie, it's there when you need it, but only if you're willing to listen?

    You're appreciated!

  3. Hello, glad you appreciate-this! I think instinct is like a fortune cookie, and intuition is like a muscle. Instinct is wired throughout our lives like you said, so you can't really practice it, but can be able to train in other skills that go with it like reflex, speed..etc
    interesting insight thank you.
